About
Ann Cranor’s art consists of water media painting, printmaking and sketching. She began painting at an early age since both of her parents were artists. She is attracted to painting scenes of the plains and mountains, especially the San Juan mountains in Colorado. She strives for her work to show the satisfaction and peace that she gets from painting in God’s natural world. She grew up in south central Kansas and has spent a lot of time at her cabin in southwestern Colorado. She currently resides with her husband in Kansas City after living the past ten years in Ohio. Her water media painting includes watercolor, gouache, casein, and acrylic. She likes to use combinations of these in her painting. Her work is in many private collections in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado and Ohio. She has shown her work in many juried exhibits in Ohio (Massillon Art Museum, Stark State College, Canton Art Museum, Little Art Gallery in Canton) and Kansas (Hutchinson News, Hutchinson Art Fair, and Sterling College). She has studied with numerous artists, including internationally known water media artist Stephen Quiller.
